Serving Platter In
Posted in Dinnerware | No Comments »I broke a serving platter that WILL be used for food. What adhesive is safe?
I broke two pieces off of a serving platter while house-sitting at my nieces. I assume that she uses the platter to serve food. Is there a glue that will both fix the damage and not be dangerous to use with food?
No. Toss it and buy another one. Bacteria begins to form in the cracks and could cause illness. I wouldn’t risk it. If you don’t know what to buy her, give her money or a gift card so she can pick out a new one. Crate and Barrel has great prices on serving platters. Working in restaurants I was always told that any dish that has a chip in it should not be used to serve food, same is true of repaired pieces.
